Planning documents and laptop during an audit discussion

How we work

A clear path from first call to signed report so your accounting team knows when we need the trial balance, the warehouse floor, and the board’s calendar.

Enquiry & independence check

You describe the entity, reporting framework, and deadline. We check for conflicts, prior relationships, and whether the timetable is realistic given book readiness.

Scoped estimate & acceptance

We send a fee range or fixed quote with assumptions, then an engagement letter covering responsibilities, deliverables, and access to records.

Planning & risk assessment

Materiality, significant risks, and walkthroughs of revenue, purchases, inventory, and payroll. You receive a document request list organised by cycle.

Interim procedures (when useful)

For recurring clients we may test controls or roll forward balances before year-end so January fieldwork stays focused on closing entries and cut-off.

Year-end fieldwork

Sample testing, confirmations, inventory observation, and follow-up on exceptions. Issues are raised during the week they appear, not only at the end.

Review, report & closing meeting

Partner review, draft auditor’s report, proposed adjustments, and a management letter. We meet management — and the board when invited — to walk through findings.

What we need from you

A named liaison who can answer questions within one business day during fieldwork. Access to the general ledger, bank portals for confirmation authorisations, and warehouse coordination for stocktakes. Prior-year files help when a predecessor auditor is involved.

If the books are still open when fieldwork was meant to start, tell us early. We would rather reschedule than burn hours waiting on unfinished reconciliations.
